By RhemDy News

A total of 329 military personnel were airlifted in and out of the North-East Theatre of Operations under the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Welfare Flight Programme on June 16, 2026.

Military sources disclosed that the second welfare flight for the month of June was successfully conducted using a Value Jet aircraft as part of ongoing efforts to support troop welfare and operational efficiency.

According to the sources, 155 personnel were deployed into the theatre to resume operational duties, while 174 personnel were airlifted out to enable them proceed on leave, reunite with their families, and recuperate after extended periods of deployment.

It was further revealed that since the inception of the COAS Welfare Flight Initiative, a total of 33,426 personnel have been transported in and out of the Operation HADIN KAI Theatre.

The initiative remains a critical component of the Nigerian Army’s welfare strategy, aimed at facilitating troop rotation, boosting morale, and ensuring personnel have adequate opportunities to rest and reconnect with their loved ones after demanding operational engagements.
