Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Radda, has stated that the rescue of Mrs Amina Abubakar, the widow of late Major General Rabe Abubakar has reinforced the confidence of the people in Nigeria's security forces.
Governor Radda made the remarks when he visited the wife of the late former Director Defence Information, following her successful rescue from kidnappers by troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
Radda visited the widow on Wednesday alongside his Director General, Media Affairs, Maiwada Dammallam, at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina, where she is currently receiving medical attention.
According to reports, the rescue operation was carried out after troops engaged the kidnappers in a fierce gun duel, leading to the successful recovery of the victim.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Radda commended the gallantry, professionalism, and dedication of the security forces involved in the operation.
He noted that the successful rescue has further strengthened public confidence in the government’s ongoing efforts in collaboration with the Armed Forces, to restore peace and security across Katsina State and the entire North-West region.
The governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies in the fight against banditry, kidnapping, and other criminal activities threatening the safety of citizens.
The rescue of Mrs. Abubakar is being hailed as another significant success for Operation FANSAN YAMMA and a testament to the determination of Nigerian security forces to protect lives and combat insecurity across the country.
