General Rabe Died From Snakebite, Wife Still In Captivity — Family

By RhemDy News

Contrary to an earlier report that late Major General Abubakar Rabe (rtd) died from complications from diabetes, the family of the late former spokesman of the Nigerian Army has revealed that he indeed died from snakebite.

The family members also dismissed that Rabe's wife was released by the bandits after her husband's death, stating that she remains in the custody more than two weeks after her abduction alongside with her husband.

Members of the late General’s family who made the clarification to DW, also expressed concern over the continued captivity of the General’s wife.

They stressed that despite reports suggesting progress in efforts to secure her freedom, the abducted wife has not yet been released and remains in the hands of the bandits.

The late top military officer and his wife were abducted over two weeks ago on their way for a wedding ceremony in the Matazu area of Katsina State.

RhemDy News recalls that the Katsina State Government, while announcing the  death in captivity of General Rabe, said the deceased died a natural death from complications of diabetes and hypertension.

“The deceased retired general died a natural death from complications of diabetes and hypertension,” Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr Nasiru Mu’azu, said in a statement on Friday.
