Gov Adeleke Moves Widow, Children Of Slain Osun Accord Member To Osogbo

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has moved Tolulope Aderogba, the widow of Ajayi Aderogba, and her four children to Osogbo, the state capital for adequate protection and care.

Aderogba, popularly known as Rogba

and a member of Accord was recently shot dead in the Esa-Oke community of Obokun Local Government Area of the state. 

According to a statement on Sunday by Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the spokesperson to the Governor, on arrival at the capital, Mrs Aderogba who needed medical attention was directed by Governor Adeleke to be immediately offered medical attention.

Governor Adeleke has also granted full scholarship to the four children of the deceased and provided accommodation for the family at the capital.

The governor also included the fifth child who was staying with the Aderogba family as at the time of the incident.

The relocation process, coordinated by the spokesperson to the Imole Campaign Council and the member of the House of Assembly representing Obokun State Constituency, Hon. Pelumi Olajengbesi, was completed on Friday evening following the fear about the safety of the family.

Olajengbesi had also handsomely donated for the care and support of the bereaved family.

Governor Adeleke also visited the family and assured them of their safety and care, assuring that their breadwinner's killers will be apprehended and prosecuted.

The governor informed the police that some of his supporters in Esa-Oke communities were still being threatened because of their support for Accord, tasking the police to act before another tragedy in that ancient town.

“I am happy the widow and children are now fully secured here at the capital. We have made all arrangements for the schooling and other needs of the family. The state will ensure their safety, care and justice for the late Aderogba.

“I am monitoring the implementation of the directives by the Inspector General of Police through the Deputy Inspector General of police. It is getting to 72 hours after the meeting. 48 hours ago, the Deputy Inspector General of Police also held an operational meeting with the service commanders in the state.

“We expect immediate action to implement directives of the Inspector General of Police. I am hoping that no police officer will defy an openly conveyed instructions and operational orders duly issued by the IGP”, the governor said while again condoling the family.
