The House of Representatives on Thursday adopted the report on the proposal to establish state police at plenary in Abuja.
The lower legislative chamber also approved 18 constitutional amendment clauses during their sitting presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas.
Among the 289 lawmakers present during the consideration, 287 voted to support the state police proposal with two others voting against it.
The approved clauses were part of the recommendations lawmakers considered during deliberations on constitutional amendments.
These bordered on strengthening governance, security, and institutional effectiveness across the country.
