JUST-IN: Two Kidnappers Killed As Police Rescue Ex-Minister Adelabu's Sister, Sons

Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, the younger sister of the immediate-past Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has been released.

John-Paul alongside her two twin sons, Peter and Paul who were abducted few days ago in the Challenge area of Ibadan, Oyo State capital were rescued on Saturday around 7:30pm by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.

Report disclosed that two suspected kidnappers were neutralised in a gun duel with police personnel, while two firearms were recovered from the gang during the rescue operation.

The victims were kidnapped around 7:30 a.m. on June 3, 2026, when the former minister's sister was conveying her children to school in her car.

Police sources disclosed that sustained intelligence tracking and tactical pressure forced the kidnappers into a confrontation with operatives, leading to the successful rescue of the victims.

Sources further disclosed that nearby areas were being combed by police operatives to fish out fleeing members of the kidnapping syndicate, some of whom are believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.

The exactly location of the rescue operation has also not been disclosed at the time of filing this report.
