JUST-IN: US Hits Multiple Locations In Fresh Attack On Iran

As the Middle East conflict resurfaced following the downing of the United States military helicopter on Monday, a new wave of attack was launched across Iran on Wednesday evening by the US forces.

Announcing what it termed as additional self-defence strikes, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said forces began the operation at the directive of President Donald Trump.

 CENTCOM disclosed that the strikes were in response to "Iran’s unwarranted and continued aggression".

"U.S. Central Command forces began launching additional self-defense strikes today at 5:15 p.m. ET against multiple targets in Iran at the Commander in Chief’s direction. The strikes are in response to Iran’s unwarranted and continued aggression," the statement said.

RhemDy News recalls that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had launched a wave of attack on US military bases in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan, following the retaliatory airstrikes over the shooting of the US military helicopter.

Although the Iranian authorities did not own direct responsibility for the downed aircraft, the US however blamed the attack on the IRGC. 

Earlier, US Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, had hinted that the armed forces  would attack Iran tonight.

Hegseth stated this while speaking to journalists at the CENTCOM headquarters, MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.

"CENTCOM, Central Command will be busy tonight because President Trump said we will be hitting Iran hard and we will be," Hegseth said.

He added, "We will hit them hard on our terms, on the targets that improve the environment for us to operate in and undermine the capabilities that Iran wants to have."
