Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested five (5) suspected members of the Aye Confraternity cult group.
The suspected were apprehended by the police during a routine stop-and-search operation carried out as part of an intelligence-led operation along the Ago/Festac Bridge axis of the State.

Lagos State Command, SP Abimbola Adebisi, stated in a statement that operatives intercepted a Toyota Camry XLE saloon car occupied by two of the suspects identified as 24-year-old Emmanuel John and David Godwin, 28 years.
Adebisi said A search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of substances suspected to be hard drugs.
The PPRO said during preliminary interrogation, both suspects confessed to being members of the Aye Confraternity.
She added that further investigation led to the arrest of additional three (3) suspected cult members identified as Samuel Owubokiri, ‘m’, aged 25 years; Adetona Seyi, ‘m’, aged 20 years; and David Chigozie ‘m’, aged 25 years.
The Lagos police spokesperson listed the exhibits recovered from the suspects to include military camouflage, two (2) machetes, one battle axe, one knife, 500 SIM cards, five (5) mobile phones, five (5) laptops, charms, and various substances suspected to be hard drugs.
She disclosed that the suspects also confessed to being members of the Aye Confraternity.
Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, has reassured residents of the Command’s unwavering commitment to combating cultism and other violent crimes across the State.
CP Fatai also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue to provide timely and credible information to the Police to aid crime prevention and enhance public safety.
