Troops Nab Suspected Terrorist Logistics Supplier In Zamfara

By RhemDy News

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have recorded another operational breakthrough with the arrest of a suspected logistics supplier believed to be providing critical support to terrorist elements operating in Nigeria’s North-West.

The operation, carried out along the Sokoto–Gusau Road in Zamfara State, underscores the military’s sustained efforts to disrupt the supply networks that sustain criminal and terrorist activities across the region.

Military sources said the suspect was apprehended on Wednesday, June 25, 2026, during a routine stop-and-search operation by troops as part of ongoing security measures aimed at denying terrorists access to logistics and operational resources.

The arrested suspect was driving a Honda Civic vehicle when soldiers discovered a cache of military-grade items concealed inside the vehicle.

Following subsequent search, 150 pairs of combat boots alongside other tactical equipment, including three jackknives, three electric shockers, a tear gas canister, a military beret and a belt were recovered from the suspect.

The troops also confiscated several communication devices comprising two android mobile phones, an iPad and a digital wristwatch, all of which were expected to aid ongoing intelligence and forensic investigations.

Military authorities described the seizure as a significant disruption of the logistics chain that enables terrorist groups and armed bandits to sustain their operations.

Security experts have consistently identified dismantling of supply networks as critical to conducting direct combat operations, stressing that this weakens the operational capacity of criminal elements and limits their ability to launch attacks.

The latest arrest highlights the effectiveness of the intensified stop-and-search operations being conducted under Operation FANSAN YAMMA across the North-West.

According to the sources, the suspect has been taken to military custody for further investigation, while the recovered items have been secured as exhibits.

The operation reinforces the Nigeria Armed Forces’ commitment to denying terrorist groups freedom of movement, disrupting their support structures, and restoring lasting peace and security in Zamfara State and the wider North-West region.
