The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade 1, has commended President Bola Tinubu, the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde and security agencies for their unrelenting commitments in ensuring the rescue of pupils and their teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of the State.
Oba Owoade also thanked traditional rulers and religious leaders for their unalloyed support towards the release of the abducted kidnap victims.
In a release on Saturday by his Director of Media and Publicity, Bode Durojaiye, the elated Alaafin eulogised security agencies for their deep sense of devotion and unflinching patriotism in working assiduously towards the release of the abducted pupils and their teachers.
He equally congratulated parents of the abducted pupils and teachers for the safe return of their wards and parents back home.
Alaafin maintained that native intelligence was essential as the country faces an important task and must cultivate a communication culture around security that is calm without evasion, transparent without recklessness, reassuring without dishonesty, and patriotic without descending into empty propaganda.
"National security is not sustained by weapons and operations alone. It is sustained by trust. Citizens must believe that institutions remain functional, responsive, and worthy of cooperation even in difficult times. Public confidence is itself a strategic asset.
"Credibility is earned through accuracy, consistency, and transparency rather than through volume of communication. This is why communication can no longer be treated as an afterthought within the architecture of national security. The goal is not to manufacture false optimism. It is to ensure that hopelessness does not become national doctrine," he said.
The revered monarch reminded that the "Old Oyo Empire did not just last over 600 uninterrupted years, but through a cohesive native intelligence mechanism".
