The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade has emphasised the essence of cultivating positive impact mindset as powerful tool for personal growth and community development.
Oba Owoade stated this on Thursday at his palace while addressing community and religious leaders, traders, and organised associations to mark his 51st birthday in the anxiety Oyo city.
The revered minarch noted that the mindset as holistic influence on thoughts, actions, and how people engage with the world around them.
"One of the immediate benefits of adopting a positive impact mindset is the positive effect it has on mental well-being. When individuals focus on the good in their lives and the potential for positive change, it can lead to reduced stress, increased resilience, and an overall improvement in mental health. This shift in perspective empowers individuals to approach challenges with optimism and determination," the Alaafin said.
He further stated that a positive impact mindset serves as a foundation for resilience.
"Instead of viewing setbacks as insurmountable obstacles, individuals with this mindset see them as opportunities for growth.
"Resilience enables people to bounce back from adversity, learn from experiences, and adapt to changing circumstances. This resilience not only benefits individuals but also contributes to the strength and cohesion of communities," the paramount ruler noted.
While stressing that positivity is contagious, and a positive impact mindset has the potential to strengthen relationships, Oba Owoade posited that those that are optimistic, empathetic, and collaborate are supportive and contribute to the good of their environment.
"By fostering resilience, building strong relationships, encouraging proactive solutions, and contributing to community development, a positive impact mindset becomes a catalyst for a brighter and more hopeful future," he maintained.
Alaafin disclosed that his low-key 51st birthday celebration followed the recent bandit abduction of pupils and their teachers in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
"While the planning was on, some pupils and their teachers were kidnapped by the bandits in one of the Oyo communities. They were held in captivity inside a reserved forest for months before regaining their freedom recently. While the abduction lasted, the planned elaborate birthday celebration was dropped as a mark of sympathy and concern for the pupils and their teachers in captivity," the royal father explained.
Also speaking, Alaafin's Queen Consort, Ayaba Abiwunmi Olajumoke Owoade, thanked the elated residents for their unfettered love, support and understanding for her husband.
Ayaba Owoade who stressed the imperative of mutual coexistence and unity as catalysts for progress and development, expressed her happiness and gave glory to God for His protection, divine guidance and good health for the royal family.
