The Oloro of Oro Kingdom in Irepodun Local Government of Kwara State, Oba Joel Olaniyi Oyatoye Titiloye Olufayo II, has described the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade as a a vital custodian of Yoruba cultural heritage.
Oba Olufayo also acknowledged the foremost paramount ruler as one who is so passionate about the unity of Yoruba.
The Oloro stated this on Friday in a statement released by his media office to rejoice with the Alaafin on the occasion of his 51st birthday.
In a statement he personally signed, the Oloro described Alaafin as a vital custodian of Yoruba cultural heritage whose reign continues to bring peace and pride to the Yoruba nation and Nigeria.
Oba Oyatoye fondly recalled the deep, historical relationship shared between the two kingdoms, expressing gratitude for Alaafin's continuous show of solidarity and fatherly guidance.
"On behalf of the Oloro-in-Council, the traditional chiefs, and the entire good people of Oro Kingdom, I extend our warmest congratulations to our revered father and global custodian of Yoruba heritage, His Imperial Majesty, the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I, on his birth anniversary." Oloro added.
"Alaafin of Oyo is so passionate about the unity of Yoruba culture and that is the reason why he keeps spreading all his tentacles where the Oyo empire spread across," he said.
The royal father prayed for long life and sustained prosperity for Oba Owoade, praying God to guide him with wisdom and robust health as he steers the ancient throne of Oyo.
