A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has sentenced one Muhammad Sani to twenty years imprisonment for conspiring to conceal information regarding a suspected notorious bandit, Danranmi.
Sani was accused before the court for withholding the information leading to the escape of the notorious bandit.
The Department of State Services (DSS), in a statement disclosed that Sani, a resident of Nabi Village in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State was convicted on two, out of a four-count charge bordering on terrorism.
In one of the charges, prosecution alleged that Sani and fleeing suspect, conspired to conceal information revealing Danranmi as a notorious bandit supplying arms and ammunition to kidnappers and bandits in and around Niger State.
Sani was also accused of receiving the sum of N580,000 to purchase 150 rounds of ammunition for Danranmi.
In his ruling, Justice Emeka Nwite sentenced Sani to twenty years in prison without an option of fine on count one and two, directing that the sentence be effective from January 11, 2023, the date of arrest.
