Not fewer than 147 suspects have been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command during a statewide crackdown on criminal elements under the ongoing boundary sweep operation, codenamed “Operation Ko Si Aye.”
Quoting Police sources, security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, said the operation, which entered Phase III on Sunday, July 19, was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations and conducted across various parts of Lagos State.
Makama said the operation commenced at about 6 a.m. as part of sustained efforts to rid the state of criminal elements and strengthen public safety.
He revealed that during the exercise, officers arrested a total of 147 suspects and recovered unspecified exhibits believed to be connected to criminal activities.
According to Makama, the suspects were currently in police custody undergoing profiling, while investigations continued.
The Command said the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
