NBTI's Boss Signs Deal For 2027 Joint Commonwealth NextGen Innovation Challenge

The National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), alongside its international partner UKALD Ltd., on Monday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Commonwealth Businesswomen's Network (CBWN) to jointly organise the joint Commonwealth-NBTI NextGen Innovation Challenge 2027.

A statement on Monday by NBTI's Information and Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Agboola stated that the initiative is a pan-Commonwealth expansion of NBTI's flagship NextGen Innovation Challenge, targeting entrepreneurs and innovators across all 56 Commonwealth Member States.

Agboola said the signing ceremony took place at the Nigeria House, the Nigerian High Commission in London.

He added that the event, which was hosted by Ambassador Abu-Obe Eche and attended by the Director-General/CEO of NBTI, Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, had the the NBTI and UKALD delegations alongside the CBWN team.

The statement stated that discussions also covered plans for the formal launch of the Commonwealth-NBTI NextGen Innovation Challenge at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Antigua and Barbuda this November, ahead of the full programme rollout in 2027.

"NBTI looks forward to working with CBWN and partners across the Commonwealth to grow innovation, investment and enterprise opportunities for the next generation," he said.
