Oriire: 8 Terrorists Arrested, 9 Others Killed In Oyo Students, Teachers' Rescue

No fewer than eight (8) terrorists were arrested and nine others neutralised on Friday during the rescue of all students and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Emerging details also revealed that no ransom was paid, and all the demands of the criminals were unmet in the 57 days standoff.

The victims were abducted at Ahoro Esi-ele and Yewota communities in Oriire Local Government Area, on May 15, 2025.

RhemDy News gathered that security agencies comprising the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Police, Department of State Services (DSS) rescued the abducted victims on Friday.

The rescued persons were currently on their way to Ibadan, Oyo State capital where they were expected to be received by the state government.

Speaking on 'Politics Today' on Channels Television on the development, Governor Seyi Makinde expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu, the Armed Forces, the DSS and the police for the rescue.

It was further gathered not fewer than nine (9) Terrorists were neutralised in the encounter resulting in the freedom of all the abductees.

Governor Makinde also commended the media for putting the development on the front burner.
