Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have neutralised two suspected terrorists during a successful operation in Mokurata, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The troops also recovered a motorcycle as well as a Baofeng handheld radio during the successful operation.
Security sources disclosed that the operation was launched following credible intelligence on the activities of terrorists within the area.
Acting swiftly on the intelligence, the troops were deployed to prevent the criminal elements from carrying out their activities at Mokurata.
On arrival, the troops made contact with the terrorists, who reportedly attempted to flee after encountering the superior firepower of the security forces.
During the ensuing operation, two terrorists were neutralised, while their operational motorcycle and Baofeng handheld radio used for communication were recovered from the scene.
Military authorities said the operation formed part of the sustained offensive by Operation FANSAN YAMMA to dismantle terrorist networks and deny criminal elements freedom of movement across the North-West.
The troops have continued to maintain offensive operations in the area as efforts intensify to restore peace and enhance security for residents.
