Residents of Gummi town in Zamfara State on Thursday, commended the troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA as military personnel offloaded eight motorcycles recovered from bandits during a recent successful counter-ambush operation in the State.
The motorcycles, transported on an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), were reportedly conveyed to the headquarters of the North West Joint Task Force, Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
The move follow a recent operation where security forces eliminated over 100 terrorists.
Eyewitnesses said large numbers of residents gathered to witness the arrival of the recovered motorcycles, cheering and commending the troops for their resilience and sustained efforts in restoring peace and security across Zamfara State and the wider North West region.
The spontaneous appreciation reflected growing public confidence in the ongoing military operations, with many locals expressing gratitude to the troops for their sacrifices in confronting armed groups and recovering assets believed to have been used by the terrorists.
Security analysts believe that the gesture underscored the strengthened relationship between local communities and security forces as Operation FANSAN YAMMA continues to intensify campaign against banditry and terrorism in the region.
