Mr Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, the husband of former Minister of Finance and founder of DashMe Foundation, Kemi Adeosun, is dead.

The deceased passed away in Lagos on Wednesday at the age of 62.

Adeosun's passing was contained in a statement on Thursday by Reverend C. A. Adeosun, on behalf of the family.

"It is with profound sorrow, yet in total submission to the will of Almighty God, that the Adeosun family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, and brother, Mr. Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, who was called home to glory on Wednesday, 5th August 2026, in Lagos," the statement stated.

Fondly called Niyi, the statement described the deceased as a distinguished businessman and a devoted Christian whose integrity, generosity, and steadfast faith touched the lives of all who knew him.

"He lived a life defined by hard work, service to God, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.

"He is survived by his wife, former Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun; his cherished children; and his siblings, including Mr. Adewale (Wale) Adeosun, Founder of Kuramo Capital, along with a host of other family members, friends, and associates who mourn his passing," the statement noted.

It added that, "Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the assurance of God's Word: "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord... that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them" (Revelation 14:13)."

The family has requested privacy during this difficult period to grieve the irreplaceable loss.

It further announced that details of the funeral and Christian burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.

It also thanked those that have reached out with prayers, condolences, and support.

"May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace in the bosom of the Lord," the statement prayed.
