President Bola Tinubu has described the Hausa people in Nigeria as great pillars who play vital role in the nation's unity and progress.
The President stated this on Wednesday in a statement he personally signed and posted on his verified Facebook page to commemorate the Hausa Day.
In his congratulatory message, Tinubu wrote, "The Hausa people are great pillars that play a vital role in the unity and progress of Nigeria".
He added that Hausa has flourished to emerge as a major language of unity and commerce worldwide.
"The Hausa language, without doubt, has flourished and has become a major language of unity and commerce across the world," Tinubu said.
The President further congratulated the Hausa community on the occasion which he noted was being celebrated on Wednesday at the palace of the Emir of Daura in Katsina State.
"I congratulate the vast Hausa community on the occasion of Hausa Day, which is being celebrated at the historic Daura Palace today," Tinubu said.
