Bola Abimbola, a son of Awise Agbaye and Oyo-born former Vice Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (formerly University of Ife), Professor Wande Abimbola, is dead.
Bola, who is popularly known as DJ passed away in the early hours of Thursday in his base – Canada.
His demise was announced via a statement signed by one of his classmates, Mrs Foluso Adeyemi-Sipe and sent to the Oyo Global Forum (OGF) WhatsApp group and posted on the Instagram page of Ovation International publisher, Bashorun Dele Momodu, on Thursday.
“With total
submission to the will of God, we announce the passing of our dear brother and
classmate, Mr. Bola Abimbola (aka DJ), son of our renowned former
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wande Abimbola, who passed away earlier today in Canada.
“Bola will be fondly remembered for his gentle mien, humility and quiet disposition. He will be sorely missed.
“Further details will be communicated as received from his family,” the statement added.
It further prayed that Almighty God grants the deceased eternal rest and comfort his immediate and alumni families.
