Osun Poll: Adeleke Campaign Calls For Reports Of Election-related Violence

Following its earlier determination to document cases of electoral violence before, during and after the Saturday, August 15, 2026, Osun State governorship election, the Imole Campaign Council has called on victims who have not forwarded their details for documentation to do so.

The call was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the spokesman of the Council, Pelumi Olajengbesi, where he extended the Council's deepest sympathies to individuals and families who suffered loss of life, injury, assault, destruction of property, arrest or any other form of violence as a result of the governorship election.

"Further to our earlier statement directing the documentation of all victims of election-related violence across Osun State, the Campaign Council is now finalising the exercise and calls on members of the public who are yet to submit details of affected persons to do so", he said.

The Campaign Council reiterated that the exercise was not party-based, saying, "It covers every victim, irrespective of political affiliation, party membership or voting preference. 

"A citizen who lost a loved one, suffered injury or lost property deserves our collective sympathy, adequate support, justice and appropriate compensation without consideration for his or her political persuasion," the statement stated.

It encouraged effected members of the public to submit the names of victims, their local government, ward and community; phone numbers or details of next of kin and the nature of incident whether death, injury,  assault, property damage or arrest.

Other required details include the date and location of incident, brief account of what happened, available evidence including photos, videos, medical or police reports or witnesses and the current condition or status of the victim.

Olajengbesi directed that all outstanding reports and supporting evidence should be forwarded by text message or WhatsApp to: +234-703-743-9142 latest by Friday, August 21, 2026.

He stressed that the purpose of the documentation is not merely to keep a record but also to provide a credible basis for pursuing justice, accountability, adequate support and appropriate compensation for victims and affected families.
