Troops Rout Terrorists, Recover Firearm In Sokoto

By RhemDy News

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, in a decisive encounter on Sunday, foiled an advance by armed terrorists towards Ghandi town at the Ghandi Bridge in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The encounter forced the attackers to flee in disarray under intense military firepower.

Acting on credible intelligence about the movement of the armed group, troops of Sector 2 swiftly occupied strategic positions around the bridge and intercepted the terrorists before they could advance into the community.

Military source said the troops engaged the outlaws with superior firepower, overwhelming them and disrupting their movement.

Several of the terrorists were reportedly injured in the encounter, with some attempting to escape by jumping into a nearby river.
The scale of the operation became clearer at daybreak when troops conducted a clearance and search operation around the area, recovering one AK-47 rifle, one loaded magazine.

Additional rounds of ammunition and various personal effects were also abandoned by the fleeing terrorists.

The recovery underscores the intensity of the encounter and the pressure brought to bear on the terrorists by the troops.

With the attackers scattered and their advance thwarted, troops have intensified search and mop-up operations across the general area to track down the fleeing suspects and prevent them from regrouping.

The operation highlights the growing effectiveness of intelligence-led military action in confronting armed groups and stopping threats to vulnerable communities before they escalate.
