Campaign Council Hails APC Leaders Over Withdrawal Of Petition Against Adeleke

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC), the re-election campaign organisation of Governor Ademola Adeleke in Osun State, has commended opposition figures in the state for withdrawing its petition to challenge the victory of the governor in the August 15, 2026, governorship election in the state.

In a post on Thursday, spokesman of the TICC, Pelumi Olajengbesi, paid homage to the opposition leaders, noting that the gesture was not devoid of the right to challenge the outcome of the election.

"We must pay homage to the spirit of statesmanship demonstrated by the opposition leaders in Osun State in withdrawing their petition challenging the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke.

"Not because they did not have the right to challenge the election, but because their decision reflects a commitment to the collective interest, peace and progress of our state," he said.

Olajengbesi said the gesture showed that politics does not always have to be driven by desperation for power in Osun State. "There is still room for integrity, maturity and the greater good of our people".

He specifically commended the Minister of Blue Economy and a former governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola; the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru and the candidate of the party in the election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji who is popularly called AMBO, for their sportsmanship.

"God bless you, His Excellency Adegboyega Oyetola, Senator Ajibola Basiru and Alhaji Bola Oyebamiji," Olajengbesi wrote.

RhemDy News recalls that the controversial petition against the victory of Governor Adeleke had got many wondering the essence of such decision following the congratulatory messages by the APC candidate and notable figures in the opposition, including President Bola Tinubu.
