Ogun APC Guber Candidate, Yayi, Pays Ogogo's Family Condolence Visit

By Remi Adebayo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly called Yayi, on Tuesday, paid a condolence visit on the family of late renowned Yoruba actor, Alhaji Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.

During the visit, Senator Adeola, a very close ally of the late actor, said Ogogo's passing was particularly painful "because throughout his health challenges, we stood by him and took responsibility for his medical bills, believing and praying that he would recover, regain his strength and remain with us for many more years. Sadly, Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom, decided otherwise".

The governorship candidate also revealed that he had penciled down the deceased as Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism and a full-time member of his cabinet if he emerged as the governor in the 2027 election.

"We had also looked forward to having him serve as our Special Adviser on Culture and Tourism and a full-time member of our cabinet when, by the grace of God and the mandate of our people, we assume office as Governor of Ogun State.

"We believed his experience and passion for our cultural heritage would have contributed immensely to our vision for the sector," the lawmaker said.

During the visit, Ogogo's daughter who spoke on behalf of the family expressed appreciation for the support, kindness and commitment extended by Senator Adeola to their father throughout his health challenges.

The federal lawmaker stated that the late actor would be dearly missed and prayed that Almighty God grants Alhaji Hassan eternal rest and gives his family, friends, colleagues and admirers the fortitude to bear the painful loss.
