Olajengbesi Cautions Fadahunsi, Oke Over Alleged Banishment Of Woman In Osun

Pelumi Olajengbesi, the spokesman of The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) for reelection of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the recent Osun State governorship election, has called on the lawmakers representing Osun East in the Senate, Senator Francis Fadahunsi; and Rep. Oluwole Oke, Obokun/Oriade federal constituency, in the House of Representatives to wade into alleged banishment of one Ms. Adeola Idowu Adegoke, by persons using their names.

In a statement posted to his verified Facebook page, Olajengbesi, a lawyer, maintained that political power or influence must not be used to intimidate, punish or destroy the livelihood of any citizens due to political differences.

"We must never use political power or influence to intimidate, punish or destroy the livelihood of any citizen because of political differences," he said.

He narrated how he received what he described as a disturbing report concerning Ms. Adegoke, Accord party supporter at Ilase, Obokun. 

Olajengbesi who is the Accord candidate for Obokun/Oriade in the forthcoming 2027 general elections explained that Adegoke's shop was allegedly looted, "and she and her mother were summoned and reportedly banished" from the community unless she agreed to work politically for Senator Fadahunsi and Hon. Oke. 

"Under pressure, she agreed to support Senator Fadahunsi but declined to campaign for Hon. Wole Oke, and yet she was ordered to leave Ilase. This is not possible in a democracy," he maintained.

Olanjengbesi called on Fadahunsi and Oke to urgently called those responsible to order if the actions were taken without their knowledge or authority, noting that their names were being invoked. 

He insists the no citizen should be intimidated, banished or deprived of their livelihood because of their political choice, adding, "This is ungodly, unacceptable and contrary to law".

The House of Representatives Accord candidate stressed that politics must never descend to the level of intimidation and banishment of fellow citizens from their communities.
