President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Group Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria, Oloye (Dr.) Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, on his formal installation as the Balogun of Oyo by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade.
The congratulatory message was contained in statement by the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to the President, Bayo Onanuga, ahead of the Saturday, September 5, 2026, installation of Adeduntan in the anxiety Oyo City.
President Tinubu recalled Dr Adeduntan’s distinguished career in banking and finance, culminating in his stewardship as Group Chief Executive Officer of First Bank, where he led a far-reaching transformation of one of Nigeria’s oldest and most important financial institutions.
Tinubu also acknowledged the former First Bank boss' continuing contributions to national development through enterprise, education and philanthropy — including his service as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University.
He further noted that through his Adesola Adeduntan Foundation, the respected patriot has invested in modern primary healthcare centres serving communities of Oyo and Ibadan, and in Nigeria's solid minerals sector.
“As you assume this historic responsibility, I urge you to bring to the service of the Alaafin, the Oyo Kingdom and its people, the same discipline, strategic foresight and commitment to excellence that have distinguished your professional and public life.
“Your installation is both an honour and a call to greater service. I trust that you will continue to deploy your experience, influence and resources towards promoting peace, opportunity, development and the preservation of our rich cultural heritage,” Tinubu added.
