Israel Silent As Hamas Agrees To Disarm In Gaza
By RhemDy News
The conflict in Palestine might be on its way to resolution as Hamas has agreed to a United States-led disarmament plan where the State of Israel will also withdraw its forces from Gaza.
US President Donald Trump, who announced the deal on Thursday acknowledged that many hurdles, conditions and long timelines remained to deescalate the war in the Palestinian territory.
According to AP, the White House announcement comes nine months after a ceasefire brokered by Washington was signed.
Lately, the negotiations between Israel and Hamas had failed to progress over the implementation of its second phase which included the disarmament of Hamas and the reconstruction of Gaza.
President Trump said the agreement will be carried out in carefully structured phases.
He added that Israel's withdrawal of its forces would follow the complete disarmament of Hamas subsequent upon which the international Stabilization Force will take over Gaza.
“As disarmament is completed, Israeli forces will withdraw, and the International Stabilization Force will work with a new Palestinian police force to take responsibility for Gaza being safe for its residents and its neighbours.”
AP stressed that Trump’s 20-point ceasefire plan sought the surrender of the militant group's weapons and destruction of its vast network of tunnels.
The plan also also stipulates withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, the arrival of a new technocratic Palestinian government, deployment of an international security force and the rebuilding of the battered Palestinian enclave.
The Israeli Government has not responded to the deal as at Friday morning, and the involvement of its officials in the Hamas disarmament deal was unclear.
Meanwhile, a Hamas official reportedly insisted on the withdrawal of Israeli forces before Hamas could proceed to lay down their arms.

Japan Issues Tsunami Alert As 7.1 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Kumamoto
By RhemDy News with agency report
A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Japan's southern Kumamoto on Tuesday, resulting in power outages in thousands of homes, disruption of rail services and warning for tsunamis and aftershocks.
Emergency earthquake warnings were also issued by the Japanese Government for Kumamoto, Nagasaki, Kagoshima, Fukuoka, Saga, Oita, and Miyazaki prefectures, all on Japan's southern Kyushu island.
Japan Meteorological Agency said a tsunami warning for a wave measuring one metre had been issued after the earthquake.
In a message posted on X, Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, urged residents to avoid the coastline where the tsunami was predicted.
Sanae Takaichi said her government has set up a task force to gather information, assess possible damage and prepare for rescue operations if needed.
"We are putting people's lives as the top priority," Takaichi said, urging residents in the strongly-shaken areas to use caution in light of possible strong aftershocks.
Also, Japan's Fire and Disaster Management Agency said there were no reports of damage to major public facilities and infrastructure in the region even as authorities were still assessing the extent of damage from the quake.
Japan is one of the world's most earthquake-prone countries, with a tremor occurring at least every five minutes.
Located along the "Ring of Fire" of volcanoes and oceanic trenches partly encircling the Pacific Basin, Japan accounts for about 20 per cent of the world's earthquakes of magnitude 6.0 or more.
A massive earthquake in Kumamoto 10 years ago killed 275 people and injured a further 2,739, according to an official count.
